We know you’ve been asking in our Discord server and talking amongst the St. Louis community for news about Kokorokon coming back and we sincerely apologize for the long stretch of silence.

As many of you know, there were cascading effects from a legal battle that occurred after our first event at the Westport Sheraton Chalet in Maryland Heights. Despite that situation, we were still able to plan a second year of Kokorokon in Collinsville, IL.

 

Over time, the Board came together and explored every possible option to bring Kokorokon back on future dates. After careful consideration, we reached the conclusion that we would not be able to deliver the level of quality, care, and experience that we believe our community deserves, nor the standard we set for ourselves in our first year.

IT IS WITH HEAVY HEARTS THAT WE ANNOUNCE THE CLOSURE OF KOKOROKON.

This decision was not made lightly. Kokorokon was built from a genuine love of anime, gaming, cosplay, and most importantly the incredible community that supported us. From attendees and volunteers to artists, vendors, panelists, and staff, you made Kokorokon what it was.

​

While Kokorokon may be ending, the community does not. We strongly encourage everyone to continue supporting local conventions throughout St. Louis and the greater Midwest. These events survive and grow because of passionate fans like you, and your presence truly matters.

As we close this chapter, we do have a small remaining inventory of merchandise (t-shirts, badges) from prior Kokorokon years. If you are interested, please DM “DJInvasion21” in the Discord Server or email us at info@kokorokon.com.

Thank you for your trust, your enthusiasm, and the memories we will always carry with us. Kokorokon existed because of you, and that will never be forgotten.
